PRP i.e. Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as Autologous conditioned plasma is the advanced and non-surgical method used for hair as well as skin related issues. PRP therapy has been used since 1980s especially for treating torn tendons, tendinitis, muscle injuries, arthritis related pain etc. But now it has become more common for Aesthetic treatments. As the name is self-explanatory, PRP means Plasma which has the greater concentration of platelets. Along with these platelets, it contains PGDF (Platelet derived growth factors), VEGF (Vascular endothelial growth factors) and TGF (Transforming growth factors).

PRP
It is suitable for both men and women. It is useful in cases of hair loss, hair thinning, scalp visibility and Androgenetic Alopecia. It stimulates the stem cells that triggers the existing inactive and active hair follicles for new hair growth and thickening of the hair shaft, hence improving the density of the existing hair. The healing and regenerative properties of platelets, initiates tissue repair and new tissue regeneration in the scalp resulting in stronger and thicker hair.
It is a simple 3 step procedure in which a person’s blood is drawn (typically from the arm), processed (centrifuged for specific time at specific rpm) and then the processed plasma is injected into the scalp.
Usually 3-6 sessions are recommended at an interval of 4-6 weeks initially and then maintaining it at a gap of 3-6 months.
It can also be combined with other treatments and home care regime for better, faster and long lasting results. Since it uses person’s own blood, so it is extremely safe with no side effects and also no chances of rejection by the body.
