Microneedling
MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT
Also known as Derma roller treatment, Meso roller treatment or Derma pen treatment. It is a well-known treatment for hair and skin related concerns. It is an aesthetic procedure that involves piercing the skin with tiny needles to stimulate elastin and collagen production thereby treating various skin and hair loss concerns.
It is suitable for both men and women. It is useful in cases of hair fall, hair loss and hair thinning (Androgenetic Alopecia). During this procedure, tiny multiple needles are pushed perpendicularly into the dermis that causes a healing reaction in the skin. Growth factors that promote healing are released and those growth factors promote hair growth. The tiny punctures created by the needles, activates and regenerates the hair cells which in turn increases the blood circulation to the hair follicles and makes them stronger for thicker hair growth. The process is done till fine bleeding points are seen.
During microneedling, topical growth factors are also used on the scalp for their better absorption through the minute punctures and also to facilitate thicker hair growth. Usually 8-12 sessions are recommended on weekly basis and then maintenance is suggested as per the requirement of the scalp or the growth expectation of the person.
